I have been visiting BOA for a couple of weeks now. I gotta say... I really love this pub. The food is great, the beers are well chosen and interesting and the staff are beyond friendly and helpful. The atmosphere downstairs in the bar is casual and relaxed. Dogs are allowed just like any British country pub. Its cozy without being cramped, I was there last Sunday and there was a local band playing very good music. Please try the pork belly if it's on the menu... or before 7 the £10 burger. Upstairs there is a very elegantly designed restaurant, more formal but spot on with ambience and service. Really, If only I could bring myself to post 5 stars but I'm cautious.

This is a cosy little pub on the hill of Bradford on Avon. They also have a restaurant upstairs but you can eat in the bar downstairs too. They have a good selection of ales and drinks and at reasonable prices too, the food is really really good here. The one thing I would say is that the wait is quite long but then it does get busy, it's adviseable to book a table in advance.
The menu is varied and rich, good range or starters including the good pub staples such as pate but also calamari and more exotic items. Mains also have a good vegetarian selection and the portions are generous, and the desserts are gorgeous. I really enjoyed it here and was pleasantly surprised by the bill afterwards.
Very friendly staff and locals too, really welcoming place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May K.Los Angeles, Stati Uniti9924071 mar 2011Primo recensore
So the first time I went to this place back in December, the owner was really cool. My boyfriend and I came in for one drink about 10 minutes to close, and while there was a weird atmosphere (older people, all local), they were friendly to us.
The second time we went was in February. We were celebrating the completion of a project, so we were there with some friends (a group of 7 total). About 30 minutes to close, 3 of us walked in, and that same guy gave us some nasty look and told us they were closed. But the door said they closed in 30 minutes. And there were other people in there too. Do they just like the locals to outnumber the non-locals in case some sh*t goes down? Or did they just not like the look of us? Did they think we'd be there all night? We walked away sad and confused. Everything in town closes early, so we just had to end our celebration right there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tim R.Bradford-on-Avon, Regno Unito1120 set 2012
If you like pie this is the place to be! They have a huge selection of homemade pies with mash, the Mutton pie was to die for, and they even have pies for vegetarians! (If you're into that sort of thing!) they'll even do you a doggy bag if you can't finish it all. (They are big!) Beer is good and there's generally a good atmosphere.
