Cambridge is not really meant for the inexplicable hordes of tourists that I noticed while I was in town for work. the sidewalks are too narrow and there's only so much shoulder-checking I want to do.
in order to get some peace on my morning run, I took detours through the small parks. while Christ's Pieces isn't that big, it has a lot of paths that cross over and intersect each other from various corners of the oddly-shaped park, so you can tack on mileage that way by going back and forth and around.
there's also a small memorial with flowers in honor of Princess Diana, roughly in the center.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Utente Qype (consta…)Londra, Regno Unito15911223 ott 2009
One of the central public parks in Cambridge, but the situation and the setting are not the nicest.
Unfortunately the area has become a gathering place for local drunks during the day and troublesome youths in the evenings.
The park is well maintained and contains plenty of leafy trees and seasonal flowers, but is mostly used by crowds of pedestrians as a walk through spot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Utente Qype (A_King…)Peterborough, Regno Unito1232610 dic 2010
A walk through. A meeting spot. A park with something for every one

Don't be put off by the gruesome/rude name. This is another good option for those seeking centrally-located patches of countryside in the City. It is situated between the bus station, Christ's College, Emmanuel Road and King Street and thereby offers a link between the centre of town and the Grafton Shopping Centre. But it is also much more than a short-cut for pedestrians. It is a well-maintained park, and in the summer serves as an ideal location for picnics. Unusually, it even offers four free tennis courts, so don't forget your racquets.

Cambridge is also unique with it's green surroundings. Not many cities these days can be pround of variety of trees, bushes and shrubs. Christ's Pieces is big park, always looked after - cut grass, colourful flower beddings all year round. Relaxing place for a walk, especially if there is a need to clear a head, gather more positive thoughts, fresh ideas. I was very impressed to see community support officers asking bikers not to ride in the park.

Unfortunately this area of Cambridge is not quite as nice as others. You tend to get groups of undesirables here and its just used as a rat-run for pedestrians from the Grafton Centre to the main town centre. Although through the seasons there are lovely flowers planted in the beds and you can watch the change of the seasons as you walk through
