      I found them totally acceptable and completely reliable. The cabin was clean. People working there were friendly. If you do not speak fluent Italian - no problem. They will try to speak English.

      My experience with GNV this past March was utterly disappointing and frustrating. I had pre-purchased internet service for our voyage, only to encounter a series of deceptive practices and unfulfilled promises.

      Initially, we received a last-minute notification that GNV was substituting their vessel with another company, Moby. Upon boarding, we were informed that the internet service we had paid for could not be honored due to compatibility issues between GNV and Moby's systems. This meant I had to pursue a refund directly from GNV.

      After diligently filling out their reclaim forms and following their procedures, I was stunned to be informed that GNV would not issue a refund based on some obscure clause buried in the purchase agreement. Essentially, they have pocketed my money for a service they failed to deliver--a clear case of deception and theft.

      A simple gesture like offering a voucher for future use could have mitigated my disappointment, but GNV has shown a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. Based on this experience, I strongly advise against choosing GNV for your travel needs. Their lack of integrity and customer care speaks volumes about their business ethics.

      Save yourself the trouble and explore alternative travel options instead of subjecting yourself to GNV's unscrupulous practices.

      GNV ferries from Barcelona to Palma.
      What a joke. Staff have no idea what's going on. Can't even list correct ferry with a timeslot. Hot food is disgusting and ridiculously priced. 19 euros for 2 chicken wings, all bones, white rice and prison vegetables. Served by a rude moron at the cashier counter. Avoid these idiots like the plague. Cattle get moved around better.

      Worse than any possible nightmare. We were supposed to leave at 12pm and arrive at 7pm. Without any notification whatsoever, when we arrived at the boarding pier at 10am, we were told there was "at least" a 6 hours delay on top of the 45 minutes that were notified days before. We were lucky enough to hear this, so we had the time to move the car before getting stuck, as all the other passengers, for more than 6 hours under the sun without being able to move the car. No one was at the check-ins to manage the situation. Then we received a message saying this, and since it was more than 30 minutes before the departure this is not considered a delay but a "rearrangement". They said it would take 1 hour less and arrive, curiously enough, at 23:59. Probably because arriving on the same day saves them some problems. Then, after those 6 hours we had to wait an additional hour and a half. We were out of that nightmare boat after 3am. And the worst thing is that they knew days in advance, they have constant 6+ hours delays everyday and they just don't care.
      Not to mention that the boat was coming from a red Covid zone and obviously they didn't even have the time to clean it (but as you can read on the website, they don't clean after every trip anyway). Thus we had to stay for 8 hours outside, on the cold and windy deck, in order not to breathe inside that ferry.
      We still make jokes about this experience with the worst company ever, when we want to exaggerate saying something is bad.

      My husband and I took the GNV overnight ferry from Genoa to Barcelona in summer 2017. It was a tolerable trip, but we opted to return to Genoa by train rather than ferry. Our biggest complaint is with the staff at the reception desk - each one of them was rude and dismissive. One got the impression that guests mattered not at all to them, perhaps because they were secure in their jobs.
      The public areas of the ferry were very nice. Our cabin was fine except for the bathroom which was not clean and the sink was stopped up. The beds were comfortable. The ferry left 3 hours late out of Genoa. There were many announcements over the PA system until very late at night. Noisy children were running up and down the hallways constantly until late at night. We discovered after we were on board that the meal vouchers we had purchased were good only in the cafeteria which had long lines and poor food. We ended up eating in the restaurant which had very nice wait staff and better food, as well as a quiet atmosphere. Overall it was OK, but could be much better.
