Really great experience!! Good jazz music and a nice brunch. I missed my reservation time, but Sabine (I believe her name was) was incredibly warm and welcoming - as if I was a close friend not seen for a while! The meal - presented buffet-style - was very good as was the jazz music. (I'm not a big jazz fan, so this was a bit out-of-the-ordinary for me, but I definitely recommend it if you are in Paris on a Sunday!)
      Merci!

We went here for a concert it has inside and outside seating. A bar and stage for the local talent and downstairs it's a bar bigger stage and dance floor. The drinks were ok and it's not located in the best neighborhood. There's also seating on the roof but we didn't go up there. We didn't eat so I can't say how the food was the Young MA concert was great thought.

My go-to place when staying in Paris 20th arrondissement. Music, decent food, attentive service, great patio with olive trees. Casual. Never disappointed. I keep going. I agree with Zeva B.'s review "Paris could really use more eclectic spaces like La Bellevilloise", including rooftops. Just wait, it's coming...

I came here for my boyfriends 40th birthday. We sat at a small table which wobbled and moved on the floor. Just as we started to enjoy a beer the table slid across the floor and spilt our beers and candle all over the tables in front of us. We were so embarrassed we nearly left. I found it extraordinary that we were left to apologise to the extremely annoyed people around us. We then had to ask for them to put a napkin under the table so it was stable enough to have a meal.

We ordered the steak for 2 people. At 58 euros it was the most expensive thing on the menu so we were hoping for something special.
A disgusting plate of semi warm meat turned up with a side plate of greasy fries. After the beer incident we didn't want to complain so decided to eat what we could.
To be completely honest it was so greasy and full of fat we barely managed half of it.
At no point did anyone even ask how out food was. We were given no plates and had to ask for salt, pepper and condiments.
Once we gave up on it people around us kept looking at us a our food looked so vile.
As soon as we put our cutlery down we were presented the bill even though we had half a bottle of wine left.

100 euros for Definitely the worst experience in Paris so far. Utterly disgusting!

A kilo of cold fatty steak for 58 euros! Absolutely revolting!

I tried the outdoor section that's obviously open only a couple of months a year. Besides the filthy construction type toilets, the spot is pretty welcoming. Respectful service is nice and well maintained ping pong tables and rackets. Would recommend to anyone looking for a laid back courtyard ambiance with Vietnamese-style food

I give this place 3 stars for the decor and programming but 0 stars for service. Like many other venues in Paris, because it is widely popular, owners/staff don't feel they need to make an effort on service. Even worse, they rip you off.
For ex: a glass of wine is 3 euros outside or in the club area, but 4 euros in the main hall, in an actual glass as opposed to a plastic tumbler. Unbelievable. Fountain Coke is 4 euros, so of course we pass and have more wine instead. For a club I find it utterly irresponsible to have soft drinks priced the same as booze.
But what bothers me the most is the in existent level of service and constant attitude. Been there several times now and had the same experience. I would flat out boycott this place if it weren't for the decor, ambiance, and programming. Looking at the brunch reviews though, am sure going to skip the 28 euro ripoff.

That said, it is a beautiful venue and I really enjoy their various events and clubs, esp the famous and incredible DJ Gilles Peterson at Tea Time, a regular club that happens every 6 weeks-ish.

I can close my eyes and smile at the memory of my visit to La Bellevilloise earlier this year. It was a drizzly Sunday morning, and my travel buddy and I had received a recommendation for their weekend Brunch. Yes, even in France, which famously shuts down on Sundays, brunch has become a real phenomenon. We weaved our way through the streets and found it, though in true Anglo-Saxon fashion, we were a bit early. It also happened to be a Jazz Brunch Sunday, according to the posters outside. Given that neither my friend nor I are fluent in French, we weren't totally sure based on the ad if we could still dine in for a regular brunch, so we stepped inside the courtyard to explore and were greeted by a friendly guy. He started out in French, and upon realizing that we spoke English, he said, "My new American friends!!!" YAY! A new French friend! He put us on the reservation list for brunch, and instructed us to return when it started in about 30 minutes or so, which we did by killing time looking for an ATM and perusing a few street stalls. When we returned, there was a line out the door of people waiting to get in. C'est popular, oui? We made our way in, got seated, and took in the scene. I instantly loved it. The space where brunch was served was like an atrium with tables, chairs, and couches scattered throughout. The spread was top-notch: all manner of American-friendly foods like waffles, bacon and scrambled eggs, but with tasty French pastries, cold meats, pressed juice, tea, coffee, etc. And if that wasn't enough, there was of course the jazz element. The 5 piece jazz band, Les Ginger Stompers, did a great set. I did my best to enjoy that and not the screaming toddler at the next table over (something I'm used to in the US, but rarely see in Europe). We must have been there for 2 hours, sipping coffee, nibbling croissants, and enjoying old jazz vocal standards with Parisians. It was such an unexpectedly delightful experience.

Paris could really use more eclectic spaces like La Bellevilloise. It's really one of those one-stop shopping spots to fill any social need:

      Want..

...a place to hear live music in a dingy nightclub?

...to have brunch in a winter garden setting?

...to dine out with a group of 12 friends in a peppy, sexy spot?

...to enjoy an apéro on a sun-filled terrace?

...to let your kids run around and play in a friendly open space? ?

You can do all of the above at La Bellevilloise when the need arises.

Special highlight during a 5-hour birthday dinner with friends around a circular table with a giant tree in the center? The delicious cote de boef with homemade fries at 40E for 2 people and the 7E calvados night cap just before the place closes down.

So my weekend to visit my friends who lived in Paris brought me to this epic place!

From the minute you walk in you are taken back in time and yet met with a real arty modern twist.

This place is one of my favourite places of all time. It's so French, the style of it and layout the people.

The staffs were totally cool with my broken French when I asked them a question. The place was packed but emptied out is quick to the downstairs venue.

€5 in admission which was grand but for the experience I received I would have paid 20! The band.... BAL DES MARTINE were playing, everybody was dancing with someone! It was WOW; I was blown away with admiration of the French people...

Congrats all round... I will be back!

I had a great evening here. My friend and I wanted to have dinner and live music midweek and this place hit the spot. A reggae folk duo played while we ate and drank wine. The service was friendly and a bit slow but it doesn't matter because the space is decorated well and there is music! It has huge mature trees surrounded by round counterpace for guests to dine on as well as tables and an upstairs area that was blocked off for a party. It is such a cool venue and wasn't cramped or crazy on the night we went. I loved my dish as well, a cucumber zucchini thai salad.
