Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my wife and it was amazing. The staff was super helpful with recommendations and constantly providing great service when I would bug them about extra towels or pillows or having a taxi ready for us when we got to the lobby. The whole ambiance of the hotel was amazing and the amenities in our room were super nice. I would definitely re-book at this location when we return with our kids in a year since I know they will love it.

One thing I wanted to call out since I saw it in another comment that was posted a few months ago regarding Racism and this couldn't be further from the truth. Me and my wife are both Latin, and me a 30yr old Male covered in tattoos, arms, neck and chest and not once did I ever feel like we were looked down upon or treated differently or ask to be seated away from other people, if anything the staff was super polite to us both but I can honestly say that I always do my best to treat people with respect and kindness when I meet them for the first time especially when the people were super nice as we walked up so not entirely sure about that post. Over the years I have encountered all kinds of rude people that always end up pulling the race card when they treat people horribly and expect to be treated with respect so I am hoping that is what happened.

We booked our Europe trip by using Costco Travel. Originally we were booked at another hotel in Rome but because Costco accidentally sold it to us when they had no availability they booked us at the Sofitel and they covered they extra cost. I am so glad for this snafu because the Sofitel was a top notch hotel!

Everyone spoke and understood English perfectly. The room was so elegant and clean. It reminded me sort of a Victoria's Secret store because of all the pink. The service was excellent as well. One day when I was at the (included) breakfast buffet we were being seated and the hostess/waitress saw that my bread plate had a little crumb or stain on it as she sat me and whisked it away. I am not used to this attention to detail/compassion as usually this seems to happen when the customer brings it up or it just goes ignored. I was truly impressed by this gesture!

The breakfast buffet was so tasty with choices of creamy scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grilled veggies, Italian cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, bread, fruit, cereals, yogurts, and they even offer soymilk! And the best French press coffee served table side!

The king bed was so comfortable, the furnishings elegant but not too stiff. I loved the balcony and the view from it as well. Huge shower tub combo and a bidet too. Complimentary but strong smelling Hermes toiletries. I liked how our area was a little quieter but very close by some delicious restaurants and still accessible to a lot of attractions via walking or an easy taxi ride (i.e. main shopping area, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, etc).

It is a Sofitel so don't expect the top floor restaurant with amazing views or the rate per night to be reasonably priced. I would definitely love to stay here again whenever I return to Rome.

If you are traveling and you want to stay somewhere that offers cool, luxurious vibes that you must stay at Sofitel. I recently stayed there in Rome and it was just marvelous. They are located just 3 minutes away from the top of the Spanish Steps and a short taxi ride away from the Coliseum. In short, they are in a very convenient safe location in Rome.

When we checked in, we were greeted in French* and English and shown to our room. This trip to Italy led us to Rome twice so we had two different rooms. The first one was massive and had a view overlooking the park, a bathroom with two waterfall showerheads inside and a the comfiest bed I ever did sleep in. The second room was similar but smaller though offered a charming view overlooking some trees and an older building across the street. Both rooms however were very technologically advanced: you could press a button to summon someone rather than call downstairs, or press another one to activate 'quiet time' and when in bed, the lights could turn off from there and there were, of course, ports for chargers, individual reading lamps hovering over the bed and lights at the foot of the bed that lit up whenever you got up.

The service is easily five stars across the board. Everyone is extremely polite, mindful and very skillful with how many languages they speak. In fact, everyone speaks English so well you would forget that you are in Italy if it weren't for the beautiful accents of the staff. Sofitel is a French chain though of course they speak English and I noticed someone speaking Spanish as well. On the top floor, breakfast is served everyone a la cart or buffet. Sitting inside at the tables or at the bar was like being transported to a very chic, tropical lounge. Sitting outside is an option too and offers endless views of Roman churches, trees and the most breathtaking sunsets. The food is so f____ good it's as if someone just transported to and from a garden or jungle just to give you the freshest, highest quality food. On our last night in Rome, we sat outside to watch the sunset, hear the church bells ring and devour the most fabulous food. I have to say as great as the cocktails were you are much better off coming here for a proper meal versus just cocktails. This Sofitel location is known for their rooftop bar but it just is not the vibe to come and party with friends (though you could!) and is more for those vacationing or traveling for work.

Each time we left the hotel, we were asked how we were and where we were off to. They were so courteous in the presentation of their questions so it never seems invasive and it was just being helpful and ready to spring into action if you had questions or needs from them. When taxis pulled up, they spoke in their native Italian to ensure the drivers knew exactly where to go. After arriving back to the hotel, staff always made us feel like we just came home. Though each stay was short, I would certainly come back to this location again purely for the service, food and location. This hotel is near perfection!

      You can hear the bells!

I traveled by myself and wanted to spend my big birthday with a nice view ! Cuz I am adventurous and classy ! Anyways noted that Sofitel has a rooftop restaurant ! I booked it and it is like a hidden gem , not many ppl know , cuz only a couple of tables were occupied . Doorman at the entrance was super friendly , but not in a creepy way , in a more Santa Claus way. And

All the way to 7th floor ! Once I entered the staff was like we reserved this table for you . I was stunned as I was like how do U know who the heck I am , and she s like cuz you are the only person with reservation for 1 , okay ! Fine I am a loner ! Anyways ....Wow yes the view was breath taking !

Food now . I ordered tiramisu and asked if they could have the " happy birthday " on it , so they ran out of the writing thing , but nevermjns they bring something better ! A full crew celebration! Oh man ! With firework candle !!!! Jesus man ! I am in love with this hotel lol . Food is okay and pricey but the view and the staff !!!!! Tots worth it. Anyways I gotta say again the staff are absolutely polite , adorable and sweet. They constant come and ask if everything is okay . But did not over do it . When night kicks in , they asked if I need a blankieeee I was like awwwwww ....

Absolutely love the experience ! Tots recommend !

Being totally unfamiliar with Italy, we used a travel agent to book the hotel for our honeymoon. She hit a homerun! From the second we pulled up, our experience at Sofitel was top knotch. It is a luxury experience all the way. The front desk staff and doorman are all very courteous and greeted us, usually by name, every time we were coming or going.

The rooms were smaller than a typical American hotel (as was expected) but still fairly spacious. The decor was rich and elegant. The bathroom was HUGE and the shower was amazing. It had both the European rain shower and also a traditional shower head. It was also a large bath tub (although I never took advantage of soaking in the tub). The bath products are Hermes. Great quality and scent.

We ate in the rooftop restaurant twice. Both meals were outstanding with fantastic service. The view of the Vatican is amazing. If you stay at Sofitel, make sure you make it to the restaurant, even if just for a drink.

We used the concierge on several occasions to book tours and make dinner reservations and she was always spot on.

I highly recommend Sofitel for any stay in Rome.

For a European hotel, particularly one located in Italy, I found the Sofitel to be a great boutique luxury hotel. The room size was more than adequate, as was the bed size, and the bathroom was more the size of what one would find in an American boutique hotel than a European one (from a size standpoint).

The hotel is centrally located in Rome within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, the Coliseum, and a number of other "attractions"/historical places in the city of Rome. It is approximately a 30 minute cab ride from Leonardo Da Vinci airport (Aeroporto di Fiumicino), which as of March 2013 should cost you roughly 40 Euros - so don't let a cab driver take advantage of you.

The breakfasts are lovely and filling, and the terrace restaurant on the top floor has a remarkable view of Rome and I highly recommend one dinner on the roof top, and drinks maybe to end your evening every night. It is truly a spectacular view, and I believe you'll enjoy it.

Since I was there for meetings, I will also comment that the meeting rooms were large enough to fit about 20 - 25 people, but the fact that they did not have a built-in projector was a bit awkward (however, one can be supplied - although the one supplied to us had a color bulb burned out so some of the colors were off).

Anyhow, I highly recommend the hotel as a place to stay and dine.

My review is based solely on the view on the patio. I highly recommend having a drink on the patio of you can. Warning! The drinks are very expensive. I was told that the price doesn't match the food but I cannot vouch for that I didn't eat anything. The service was great although we got kicked out of the patio when no one was there. The waiter said we had to leave for people coming in for reservations. We hadn't even had our drink yet.

Hotel is nice, other than that this place was far from everything, minimum 15 min walk to the main outlets....the one thing that got me to write this review and give them 3 stars is the breakfast. Now they said it was complimentary but when I checked out to pay for what charges I had acquired, I noticed that they charged me for eggs.... I told them that they had said breakfast is complimentary, and they told me it is except for the eggs, because it's not breakfast.... WTF how r eggs not part of breakfast?? I'll let u think about that one before u book this place!!! I would not go back because they say one thing and do another, total BS place!!!

Wonderful hotel!!! The rooms were quaint and cute, and it is located on a quiet street close to via veneto. The breakfast buffet is so good!!!! The croissants. Omg.
The staff was kind although we had a few issues with our booking.

We stayed at this Sofitel for 4 days while in Rome . The area is very nice beautiful old hotel but needs major upgrades . The bed mattress was lumpy and concave in the middle . My husbands side was ok but middle had huge lump and my side slopes down . You would think a hotel would replace an old mattress ? The bathroom was very small and the tub slash shower was so strange . The height of tub was so high that it was dangerous to climb in every time needed to take a shower . In general rooms need updates paint mattress etc . Would not recommend this hotel , was worst or Sofitel we stayed at while in Europe .
