      I just love this place.
Whenever we are in Glasgow it is one of our favourite places to eat. The place is modern and spacious with a spectacular mezzanine floor and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
The food is fantastic - whenever we have eaten there it has been delicious. The vegetarian full Scottish breakfast is awesome and definitely worth trying even if you are a meat eater. Lunch is great too with a good selection for all tastes.

Great new beds independent coffee shop in the heart of Newcastle serving top quality coffee and excellent tea. Cool, crisp minimalist interior on an up and coming location. Nice cakes too!

We chose this restaurant for a family meal in May 2016. We were staying nearby and chose the restaurant from their enticing menu on the street board.
Situated inside a hotel, the dining room is small but stylish with the numbers stencilled on the table. Our waitress Gmail was fantastic; cheerful, attentive and very helpful.
The menu has a British slant and there was an appetising looking three course set menu that I took advantage of. I had a decent ham hock terrine with rye bread and home made piccalilli. My main was shepherd's pie with a delicious side of buttered spring cabbage. Dessert was bakewell tart.
My dining partners had equally good food.
The only downsides were the £5 bottle of water and the inclusive 12.5% service charge.

      Yummy shepherd's pie
      Bakewell tart and clotted cream

Our daughter studies at Glasgow Uni and whenever we go up to see her we finish the weekend with lunch at Riverhill, it's become a beautiful tradition!

The green gammon croque monsieur is a thing of beauty and is my weapon of choice at Riverhill. However, this time my wife and daughter opted for that and I went for the lamb's liver with mash and onion rings on the Specials board.

      A-maze-ing.

The best onion rings ever and a healthy and generous portion of liver certainly left me feeling well fed and charged very reasonably indeed for the pleasure.

Riverhill never fails to impress - food, staff and ambience are all superb.

A beautiful townhouse hotel in Glasgow's stylish West End that is worth seeking out.
Kirklee is a lovely red sandstone townhouse over four storeys with only nine guest rooms plus a lovely Guests' lounge. It is stylishly decorated and retains a lovely elegant Edwardian charm that you'll never find in the standard hotel chains.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with lovely views out over the Kensington Gate area. Breakfast, served in the room, was delicious and in with the room price.

If you are sick of the usual budget box hotels you must give this a try - it's just off Great Western Road by the Botanic Gardens and only five minutes from Byers Road and the subway into the city centre.
